Filing a consumer complaint has become significantly easier with the launch of the e-Jagriti (CCMP) portal. The system allows complainants, advocates, and consumer commissions to manage the entire grievance lifecycle online.
If you want to file a Consumer Complaint (CC) before the District, State, or National Consumer Commission, this guide provides the official, complete, screenshot-based workflow exactly as demonstrated in the government help document (March 2025).
This article explains each step clearly, and you can insert the screenshots in the appropriate positions using the captions below.
Step 1: Open Dashboard and Select “File New Case”

After logging in to your CCMP dashboard, look at the left sidebar and click “File New Case.”
This begins the process of filing a new consumer complaint.
Step 2: Select “Consumer Complaint” (CC) From Case Types

A list of available case types will appear.
Choose “Consumer Complaint” from the list to proceed.
This ensures the system loads the correct filing format, documents, and fee structure.
Step 3: View Required Documents and Fee Structure

Once you select Consumer Complaint:
- The system displays the mandatory documents list that must be uploaded.
- You can also view the applicable fee structure based on the claim amount.
Read this section carefully before proceeding.
Step 4: Enter Case Details

In this section, enter all case-related details, including:
- Amount paid for the service
- Total claim amount
- Date of cause of action
- State and district
- Case category and sub-category
After completing the entries, click “Next.”
Step 5: Add Complainant and Opposite Party Details

The next screen collects personal and party information.
Sections to be completed:
- Complainant details
You can also select special categories such as:
- Senior Citizen
- Widow
- Differently Abled
- Serious Ailments
- Advocate selection
If filing through an advocate, select the advocate’s name from the registered list. - Opposite Party details
Add complete details of the respondent/business.
After completing the fields, click “Next.”
Step 6: Add Additional or Proforma Complainants (If Any)

If more complainants are involved:
- Add details for each additional complainant
- Add advocate details for each
- Add proforma complainants, if applicable

Once completed, click “Next.”
Step 7: Add Additional or Proforma Opposite Parties

You may add multiple opposite parties if the dispute involves more than one respondent.

Enter the following:
- Name
- Address
- Category (Regular or Proforma Opposite Party)
After finishing the entries, click “Next.”
Step 8: Upload Mandatory Documents

Upload the required files one by one:
Mandatory (Required) Documents:
- Index
- Proforma for Filing Consumer Complaint
- Synopsis & List of Dates
- Memo of Parties
- Consumer Complaint (with notarised affidavit)
- Vakalatnama (if filed through advocate)
Additional uploads allowed:
- Annexures / Evidence documents (with proper titles)
- IA Applications (if any)
After uploading all files, click “Next.”
Step 9: Select Commission and Confirm Declaration

On this page:
- Select the appropriate commission (District, State, or National)
- Tick the declaration checkbox
- Click “Preview”
Step 10: Review Complete Filing on Preview Screen
The system displays a full preview of your complaint.

You can:
- Click “Edit” to correct any section
- Or click “Submit” if everything is accurate
Step 11: Final Submission Confirmation
After clicking submit, a system dialog appears:

“Are you sure you want to submit? You will not be able to edit the form after submission.”
Select “Yes” to complete the filing.
Step 12: Reference Number Generated

Upon final submission:
- A reference number is generated
- The case is forwarded to the respective commission for scrutiny
This number is essential for tracking the filing.
Step 13: Generate Filing Printout
Click the Print button to download or save a PDF containing:

- Reference number
- Date of filing
- Commission name
- Filing summary
This document acts as your official filing acknowledgment.
